Leanne Adell, MSPT
Leanne has 17 years experience as a physical therapist, 14 of those years in outpatient orthopedics. Leanne graduated with high honors from Rutgers University with a BS in Exercise Physiology and then continued her education at Duke University receiving a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
Leanne has provided care in New Jersey, Arizona , California and for the last 13years here in New Mexico. Over the years she has developed a wide variety of clinical skills to address a multitude of orthopedic issues. She has advanced training in both the McKenzie Method for the treatment of mechanical neck and back pain and Strain Counterstrain, a positional release technique especially useful for treating muscles injured in a car accident or fall. She also incorporates kinesiotaping to assist with edema management and muscle re-education for acute injuries and post surgical patients. She has experience with on- site injury prevention, ergonomic assessment and work conditioning to facilitate a safe and expeditious return to work for the injured employee. Leanne has a special interest in treating patients with vertigo, dizziness and balance disorders which began in 1996 when she was a member of the balance team at the Neuroscience Institute of New Jersey.
Leanne’s treatment focus is to work with the patient as a team to decrease their pain, restore their mobility and improve their strength in order to achieve the patient’s goals. Patients appreciate her dedication, enthusiasm and sense of humor. Outside of work, Leanne enjoys golfing, cooking, hiking, and walking her dogs.
