WHAT CAN THEY DO?
The evaluation of functional ability or capacity, whether of a residual nature for benefits determination, vocational rehabilitation placement or for return to work, is an evaluation that is of utmost importance to you, your client, and your case.

A defensible report answering the question, “What can my client do?”, in a reliable, valid, useful and practical way should be your expectation. That report should also answer these questions:
“Is the client exhibiting full physical effort?”
“Are the client’s reports of pain and disability
accurate?”

A report of this quality requires a critically thinking evaluator armed with the most current and scientific tools and skills, who is committed to ascertaining an individual’s ability, effort, and reliability of reports, and who is able to make a stand for you in a quantifiable, defensible way.

Tests & Measures are selected to best answer referral questions and may include the following:

Strength testing including push – pull, carry and lift testing using the EPIC protocols
Dexterity testing using the Purdue, Crawford, Minnesota, Matheson Panel System, pinch strength or Valpar 9
Handling testing using the Matheson Bench, Bennett, Valpar 202 or West VII
Fitness testing using heart rate and blood pressure data as well as rate of perceived exertion walk, step, jogging or jumping
Mobility testing evaluating balancing, low level work, flexibility, repetitive movement screening, crawling, stairs, ladder or work simulation
Capacity testing performed with incremental increases and attention to form and physiologic responses

Additionally, tests are given and responses observed to ascertain the reliability of patient reports of pain and disability and whether the client has exhibited full physical effort using hand sorts, spinal sorts, visual analog scales, the Loma Linda or the WEST, physiologic responses monitoring including heart rate, blood pressure, respiration and body mechanics.
